China Principal Venue (Shenyang) in Celebration of World Travel Day 2000 The World Travel Day 2000 was held solemnly on September 27 in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. At the opening ceremony, on behalf of 41 million people of Liaoning Province, Guo Tingbiao, Deputy governor of the province expressed his warm welcome to overseas and domestic guests attending the celebration. He warmly introduced the rich and colorful tourist resources of the province and said that Liaoning tourist industry formulated its goal of development leaping over the century and in the period of coming decade, the province will be built as a strong tourist province of China. On behalf of CNTA, Deputy Chairman Zhang Xiaqin expressed warm congratulations on the celebrations held in Shenyang. Representative of WTO addressed at the opening ceremony. More than 2,400 domestic and foreign guests attended the ceremony.
