This activity is organized by China International Sports Tourist Company which is experienced in car tourism The Second China Hubei Three Gorges International Dragon Boat Rally Time: Jun. 6-Jun. 10 Place: Yichang City Organized by: Yichang Municipal Government, Guizhou Rafting Festival Time: June-August Place: Shibingshanmu River (main site), Nanjiang River at Kaiyang, Luobei River at Guiding, Liuguang River at Xiuwen Sponsored by: Guizhou Provincial Sports Committee, Provincial Tourism Administration, and the People's Governments of relevant counties and cities Organized by: Tourism Hubei Provincial Tourism Administration, Three Gorges Project Development Corporation Contents: Yichang is the birthplace of Qu Yuan, a famous poet. A dragon boat race in his memory is held every year in Yichang, and has become a popular mass sports event. The rally starts at Guizhou in Zigui, the birthplace of Qu Yuan. It goes down the river to Gezhouba Key Water Control Project, and passes through Xiling Gorge, one of the three gorges on the Yangtze River, and the Three Gorges Project working area. The total length of the race is 76 kilometers. It is the most exciting, difficult and spectacular race in the history of dragon boat race. It is a sports competition, but an attraction for spectators. It involves adventure for the participants, and thrills for the audience who get a grand view of the dragon boats riding the waves trying to outdo each other. The event combines the magical natural scenery of the gorge with a contest that challenges the fitness of the boat crews to the limit.
