Like the Egyptian Pyramid and the Bermuda Delta, Huangshan is located on 30 degree of the north latitude, legendary stories about it coming down since the ancient times. In one of the stories, Huang Emperor Xuan Yuan succeeded to immortalize himself after excellent practice in Huangshan.



Huangshan covers an area of 1200 square kilometers, among which, the quintessence contains 154 square kilometers. Huangshan is like a scroll of a landscape painting decorated by legendary pines, oddly-shaped rocks, sea of clouds, hot springs and winter snow which have won the reputation of five unique views. Xu Xiake, the famous geographer in the Ming Dynasty highly praised Huangshan as the best mountain in China. ¡°No more mountains are needed to be visited as long as you have mounted Huangshan.¡± The senior officer of the United Nations, Dr. Samuel said excitedly, ¡°Huangshan is the most remarkable and marvelous mountain that I have ever visited.¡± In 1990, Mt. Huangshan was inscribed on the World Heritage List of Cultural and Natural Value, cherished by the whole world.

The beauty of Huangshan is in its peaks, exotic rocks, legendary pines, cliff-side waterfalls and echoing springs. They are full of figures and spirits. The beauty of Huangshan is in its clearly defined seasons and variety of scenery. In spring, it is a huge resplendent garden. In summer, flowing clouds and flying waterfalls are seen everywhere throughout the mountains. In autumn, maples turn a splendid red. In winter, it is covered by white snow, and it is really a refreshing world. Inside the Huangshan Scenic Areas, there are the Hot Springs Scenic Spot, Cloud Valley Scenic Spot, Pine Valley Scenic Spot, Northern Sea Scenic Spot, Jade Screen Scenic Spot, Heavenly Sea Scenic Spot and White Cloud Scenic Spot. The convenient cable cars at three different locations take visitors up and down the mountain.
