although this was just my first day in bangkok, I was actually already quite busy:
I got a thai sim card for my mobile,
I visited the AUA language school,
I got a list of apartments that are available in bangkok,
I bought a bangkok bus map and I successfully made my way around the city by bus (city busses tend to be the most complicated way to get around, as most signs are thai
only and conductors don't speak any english).
but still there are many things to do:
find an apartment,
buy an umbrella (this is not so obvious, I really don't know where they sell this kind of things. but it's been raining for a couple of hours today and october is a rainy month, so I really need an umbrella)
decide which language school to attend (there is another course at the chulalongkorn university) and subscribe,
buy a new pair of flip-flops (I left my old ones in sri lanka),
visit the ait and speak to them personally (hoping that this will speed up the application process a little),
start with the master's thesis.
this will very probably keep me busy for another couple of days. I hope to start my thai course on monday, but this depends on my successful search for an appartment. because I really don't want to stay in a guest house for a month or more (this, of course, depends on the ait).
