Forget about the other tourist sites in Guilin¨C just go for a trip down the Li River. The river runs through some majestic ¡°karst¡± formations and the water is so still that there are stunning mirror reflections. There are some interesting village scenes along the way including rice fields, water buffalos grazing along the river bank, fishermen and women washing clothes. There are numerous tours you can take from organised group tours with CTS to private cars and drivers. Shop around and also consider using the hotel you stay at.
