Tourist Attractions in Guilin
Reed Flute Park Located in the northwest of Guilin City, 5 kilometres away from the city centre, the park offers a majestic fairyland of karst caves with landscape and rural scenery. The length of the Reed Flute Cave is 240 meters, whereas the tourist trail inside the cave can be as long as 500 meters. There are too many things for the eyes to take in. The cave has the natural beauty of large amount of stalactites, stalagmites, stone columns, stone curtains, stone pillars in fantastic shapes and colours, which formed the numerous imaginable spots, such as 'Dawn in the Lion Hill', 'Round-topped Mosquito Palace', The Hill of Flowers and Fruits', etc. These remarkable scenes in the cave could undoubtedly evoke breathless admiration from domestic and foreign visitors. The cave is highly praised as the 'Huge Art Palace of the Nature'. At present, there are 77 stone inscriptions through the ages inside the cave. After the discovery and the opening of the cave in 1959, a lot of tourist installations such as restaurants, a teahouse, waterside pavilions, a pond and a zigzag bridge have been established here. Moreover, there are pleasure-boats on the pond, and flowers and trees could be seen here and there. In a word, the Reed Flute Cave has become one of the most popular spots in Guilin that Chinese and foreign tourists will be bound to visit.
