CHINA'S third largest travel search engine, Qunar.com, has signed a marketing and distribution agreement with Air China.According to Qunar, the partnership between Air China and Qunar is the first time that a major airline in China has elected to work with a travel search engine. Mr Hu Fa Jin, head of Air China's e-commerce business, has also called the initiative unprecedented. Under the agreement, Air China will provide Qunar.com with a comprehensive list of flight information, availability and prices, to be marketed to travellers in China via the Qunar.com website. Qunar will provide users with information on available flights and prices, and will lead customers directly to Air China's website for online booking."Online travel is the fastest growing segment of the travel industry. We feel that Qunar provides Air China with an efficient way to reach China's emerging class of frequent independent travelers, most of whom are comfortable using the Internet to find and purchase tickets," Mr Hu said.(source:ttg)
