The Great Bodhisattva at Zhengding Mansion is located within Longxin Temple in Dingcheng City. There is Goddess of Mercy statue with thousand hands and eyes in Dabei Pavilion.

The height 22.28 meters and the 42 arms hold sun, moon and bottle separately, the valuable bottle, valuable stick, valuable mirror and Jin'gang poke and so on the Buddhist instruments. The facial expression of the Goddess of Mercy is in auspicious tranquil and benevolent. It has attained the super fine effect. The Buddha statue started casting during the ace four years (971 years) of Northern Song Dynasty where 3,000 artisans participated in the casting.

As the Buddha image is extremely tall, the casting adopted the method of casting from bottom to top and divided into seven sections where they were connected together. The first section cast the lotus flower seat, the second section from knee to abdomen and the seventh section of casting was the crown. Finally, 42 arms were added (where they were cut off later on and at present, the arms were made of woodcarving).

The project was huge where it was technically much difficult in comparison to the woodcarving of Mahayana Goddess of Mercy in Puning Temple of Chinese style eight temple pavilions sitting in Chengde. It is one of the local peripheral four Buddha in Beijing, sharing the honor together with Beijing harmonious palace Buddha, Tianjin Ji Xian top temple Buddha and Chende Puning temple Buddha. The big Bodhisattva is the biggest copper Bodhisattva at present where people are used to calling it ¡°Buddha¡±.
