CHINA Day 2 • Arrive Shanghai, China Upon arrival, you are escorted to your hotel. Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai Day 3 • Shanghai Sightseeing includes the Urban Planning Exhibition Center showing the old, new and future Shanghai , then the Shanghai Museum with its remarkable dynastic cultural artifacts. Visits include handheld recorders highlighting the special features of the collections. Continue on to the Yu Garden and the Children's Palace. Enjoy a welcome dinner party. MEALS: American Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Party Day 4 • Shanghai Today take a half-day walking Shanghai Historic Tour of the Bund and the French Concession. Afternoon is free for shopping along Nanjing Road or Huai Hai Road. MEALS: American Breakfast Day 5 • Shanghai/ Zhujiajiao /Shanghai This morning drive to Zhujiajiao, the best preserved of the four water towns in Shanghai, and known as Shanghai's Venice. Tour the town and take a sampan ride to see the numerous bridges built during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Return to Shanghai and enjoy a buffet dinner at the hotel. Then enjoy the famous Shanghai Acrobats show in front section seats. MEALS: American Breakfast, Lunch, Buffet Dinner Day 6 • Shanghai/Beijing Today we fly to Beijing, China's capital. In the afternoon, a fun-filled pedicab ride takes you through the Hutong district's ancient narrow streets to enjoy a close-up look at the heritage of this exciting city, and visit with one of the local families. Then visit the Drum Tower (Gu Lou) for a panoramic view of the city. Enjoy a Sichuan dinner tonight. Grand Hyatt Beijing at Oriental Plaza MEALS: American Breakfast, Dinner Day 7 • Beijing Sightseeing today includes impressive Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace in the once Forbidden City. Ming Dynasty extravagance is on display with tours of the living quarters, museum and jewelry sections. Buffet dinner at the hotel. This evening, you are invited to a delightful dinner featuring Peking Duck followed by the energetic show, ¡°The Legend of Kung Fu,¡± with seats in the front section. MEALS: American Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Party Day 9 • Beijing/Xi'an This morning visit the Temple of Heaven to see local morning exercise and enjoy the temple. See the Imperial Vault of Heaven with its Echo Wall and the Nine-Dragon Cypress, thought to be more than 500 years old. Later, fly to historic Xi'an and check into your hotel. Buffet dinner at hotel. Sofitel on Renmin Square Xi'an MEALS: American Breakfast, Lunch, Buffet Dinner Day 10 • Xi'an Visit the famed life-sized terra-cotta legion of warriors, buried with the emperor for over 2,200 years, Circle Vision Movie and the Bronze Chariot. Enjoy a dumpling lunch at the renowned Defachang Restaurant. Later, visit the Shaanxi Provincial Historical Museum with our exclusive visit to the private artifact room where you may handle some of the national treasures from the museum's collection. Tonight, from your front section seats enjoy an entertaining dinner and show at the Tang Dynasty Theatre. MEALS: American Breakfast, Special Lunch, Dinner Show Day 11 • Xi'an/Guilin A morning visit to the exquisitely constructed Wild Goose Pagoda. Later, fly to Guilin where the Li River and spectacular peaks have inspired artists for centuries. Tonight enjoy dinner in your hotel. Sheraton Guilin Hotel (riverside room) MEALS: American Breakfast, Dinner in Hotel Day 12 • Guilin Today brings a delightful cruise on the upper deck of a deluxe air-conditioned boat along the scenic Li River, while you enjoy your lunch on board . Cruise past a breathtaking landscape of dramatic peaks to the market town of Yangshuo, where you will have time to browse. Return to Guilin and have dinner at the hotel.
