DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY:

Day 1 • Depart San Francisco for Shanghai, China
Fly transpacific aboard United Airlines, accompanied by our professional Tour Director from arrival in Asia.

Day 2 • Arrive Shanghai, China
Upon arrival, you are escorted to your hotel.

Day 3 • Shanghai

Sightseeing includes the Urban Planning Exhibition Center showing the old, new and future Shanghai , then the Shanghai Museum with its remarkable dynastic cultural artifacts. Visits include handheld recorders highlighting the special features of the collections. Continue on to the Yu Garden and the Children's Palace. Enjoy a welcome dinner party.

Day 4 • Shanghai

Today take a half-day walking Shanghai Historic Tour of the Bund and the French Concession. Afternoon is free for shopping along Nanjing Road or Huai Hai Road.

Day 5 • Shanghai/ Zhujiajiao /Shanghai

This morning drive to Zhujiajiao, the best preserved of the four water towns in Shanghai, and known as Shanghai's Venice. Tour the town and take a sampan ride to see the numerous bridges built during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Return to Shanghai and enjoy a buffet dinner at the hotel. Then enjoy the famous Shanghai Acrobats show in front section seats.

Day 6 • Shanghai/Beijing

Today we fly to Beijing, China's capital. In the afternoon, a fun-filled pedicab ride takes you through the Hutong district's ancient narrow streets to enjoy a close-up look at the heritage of this exciting city, and visit with one of the local families. Then visit the Drum Tower (Gu Lou) for a panoramic view of the city. Enjoy a Sichuan dinner tonight.

Day 7 • Beijing

Sightseeing today includes impressive Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace in the once Forbidden City. Ming Dynasty extravagance is on display with tours of the living quarters, museum and jewelry sections. Buffet dinner at the hotel.

Day 8 • Beijing

A visit to see the Great Wall. Step back into history as you walk along its ancient ramparts. After lunch visit a cloisonn¨¦ factory where you may observe the skilled artisans. This evening, you are invited to a delightful dinner featuring Peking Duck followed by the energetic show, ¡°The Legend of Kung Fu,¡± with seats in the front section.

Day 9 • Beijing/Xi'an

This morning visit the Temple of Heaven to see local morning exercise and enjoy the temple. See the Imperial Vault of Heaven with its Echo Wall and the Nine-Dragon Cypress, thought to be more than 500 years old. Later, fly to historic Xi'an and check into your hotel. Buffet dinner at hotel.

Day 10 • Xi'an

Visit the famed life-sized terra-cotta legion of warriors, buried with the emperor for over 2,200 years, Circle Vision Movie and the Bronze Chariot. Enjoy a dumpling lunch at the renowned Defachang Restaurant. Later, visit the Shaanxi Provincial Historical Museum with our exclusive visit to the private artifact room where you may handle some of the national treasures from the museum's collection. Tonight, from your front section seats enjoy an entertaining dinner and show at the Tang Dynasty Theatre.

Day 11 • Xi'an/Guilin

A morning visit to the exquisitely constructed Wild Goose Pagoda. Later, fly to Guilin where the Li River and spectacular peaks have inspired artists for centuries. Tonight enjoy dinner in your hotel.

Day 12 • Guilin

Today brings a delightful cruise on the upper deck of a deluxe air-conditioned boat along the scenic Li River, while you enjoy your lunch on board . Cruise past a breathtaking landscape of dramatic peaks to the market town of Yangshuo, where you will have time to browse. Return to Guilin and have dinner at the hotel.

HONG KONG

Day 13 • Guilin/Hong Kong

Morning sightseeing includes Reed Flute Cave and Fu Bo Hill's dramatic rock formations, followed by a dim sum lunch at the hotel. Later fly to vibrant Hong Kong .

Day 14 • Hong Kong

A drive around Hong Kong Island passes through Stanley Market, fashionable Repulse Bay, then enjoy a sampan tour of the floating community at Aberdeen. Finally, a ride to the summit of Victoria Peak affords dramatic views of the city and its harbor.

Day 15 • Hong Kong

The day is free to follow your own pursuits. Perhaps indulge in some last-minute shopping or choose one of our optional tours. This evening, join us for a farewell dinner party.
