　　 Taiwan Folk Custom Village sits at the seaside of Huangcuo. Facing the sea and surrounded by hills on three sides, the Village has an atmosphere of wild nature. The Village is equipped with various kinds of cultural and recreational facilities. To meet the ever increasing demand of tourists, Gold Hill of Pines and Stones (Jinshan Songshi) Tourist Area, Hall of Taiwanese Butterflies, Ecological Valley of Butterflies, Gallery of Clobal Insects, Gallery of Chinese Root Carving Art, Garden of Famous Mountains and Waters, Hall of Chinese Rare Stones and European Style Courtyards were completed in 1998 to the attraction of the Village.
Taking "sensitive mountains and waters, sympathetic human beings" as the theme, Taiwan Folk Custom Village was built to blend the fine natural landscape and the colorful buildings into one to please your eyes and mind and give you a joyous sense of carefree freedom. Gold Hill of Pines and Stones Tourist Area is located to the southeast of Taiwan Folk Custom Village. It boasts rare rocks and stones, green hills and valleys. Among the stretching hills, Gold Hill stands imposingly like a crane among chickens. The rare rocks and stones, the luxuriant and erect pines look like huge artistic works endowed by the nature. The Pine and Stone Pavilion (Songshi Ting) standing upright in the half way up Gold Hill amid the endless rolling hills and clear water rivals the Crag of Sunlight on Gulangyu Island in terms of beauty. The man-made Lake of Sun and Moon (Riyue Tan) and Lake of Egrets (Bailu Tan) surround the Gold Hill like two stars surrounding the moon.
